For blind-baking of homemade pastry cases. These handy ceramic baking beans ensure perfectly cooked, crisp pastry cases. They are durable, long-lasting and hygienic. They spread heat evenly across the pastry for an even, perfectly cooked result.

To bake-blind i.e. to pre-cook the pastry case without its filling, simply line the baking tin/dish with pastry and prick it all over with a fork. Line with foil or baking parchment then spread a layer of the ceramic beans evenly on top. The beans will keep the pastry flat and dry preventing a soggy base when filled.
